Sewer Line Repair in Decatur, IN

Andrews Plumbing repairs and replaces broken, collapsed, and root-damaged sewer lines for homes and businesses in Decatur, IN and across Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio. We inspect the line with our own sewer camera, then dig, repair, and backfill with our own excavation equipment, so one team handles the job from diagnosis to cleanup.

Many drain cleaning companies have to call in a separate excavating contractor when a sewer line actually needs to be dug up. That adds another schedule, another bill, and another company to coordinate. Because we handle excavation in-house, the same crew that finds the problem with the camera is the one that fixes it.

How We Repair a Sewer Line

1. Camera Inspection & Locating

We run a sewer camera through the line to see exactly what is wrong (roots, a crack, a sag, or a collapse) and locate the problem spot from the surface, so we only dig where we need to.

2. Clearing the Line

When a blockage or root intrusion is the issue and the pipe itself is sound, hydro jetting or drain cleaning may be all it takes. We only recommend digging when the camera shows the pipe needs it.

3. In-House Excavation

When a section is broken or collapsed, our own crew digs to the line with our own excavation equipment. No waiting on a separate excavating contractor and no coordinating two schedules.

4. Repair or Replacement

We repair the damaged section or replace the line, depending on what the inspection shows, then test the new pipe before the trench is closed.

5. Backfill & Cleanup

We backfill the trench and leave the site as clean as we can, so you are not left managing a second company to finish the job.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the signs of a broken sewer line?

Common signs include several drains backing up at once, gurgling toilets, sewage odors indoors or in the yard, soggy or unusually green patches of lawn over the line, and backups at the lowest drain in the house. A camera inspection confirms whether the sewer line is the problem.

Does Andrews Plumbing do its own excavation?

Yes. We own our excavation equipment and dig, repair, and backfill with our own crew. That means one team, one schedule, and one point of contact from the camera inspection to cleanup.

Do I need a camera inspection before a sewer line repair?

Yes. A camera inspection shows what is wrong and exactly where it is, so we can tell you whether cleaning will solve it or whether the pipe needs repair or replacement, and so any digging is limited to the problem area.

Who is responsible for the sewer line between my house and the main?

In most cases the homeowner is responsible for the sewer lateral that runs from the house to the city connection, but the exact point varies by municipality. We can locate your line and help you understand where your responsibility ends.

How long does a sewer line repair take?

It depends on the depth of the line, the length of the damaged section, and site conditions. After we inspect the line, we provide an estimate within 48 hours so you know the scope and timeline before work begins.

Do you repair sewer lines outside Decatur?

Yes. We repair sewer lines across Adams, Wells, and Allen Counties in Indiana, including Berne, Bluffton, and Fort Wayne, and in Van Wert County, Ohio. Call (260) 202-0286 to schedule an inspection.
